I tweeted this article on transhumanism. What I found fascinating about it was that Randal Koene, a transhumanist, was asked by the interviewer
wouldn’t a radical fusion of ourselves with technology amount, in the end, to a final capitulation of the very idea of personhood?
Koene replied by saying
Hearing you say that makes it clear that there’s a major hurdle there for people. I’m more comfortable than you are with the idea, but that’s because I’ve been exposed to it for so long that I’ve just got used to it.
We have a choice don’t we?

Studying different analytical tools allows us a better view of ‘the processes inherent to analysis itself‘ (Knox, 2015), allowing us to see what might be considered success under their terms.

Learning analytics can add to our understanding of the conditions for learning when used in conjunction with human judgement and triangulated with information from other sources. More importantly, it is a measure of wider political and societal concerns such as the marketization of education led by Silicon Valley giant corporations.
